Sleeping Beauty Castle Shines: A New Nighttime Lighting Concept at Disneyland Paris

Since June, Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris has been illuminated in an entirely new light. The teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery have developed an innovative nighttime lighting concept that highlights the iconic architecture of the castle during the evening hours.

Over 200 LED spotlights illuminate Sleeping Beauty Castle

More than 200 LED spotlights have been installed to fully surround the castle with 360-degree lighting. The golden elements of the towers and the impressive columns of the castle are particularly highlighted. This lighting gives the entire structure a magical glow that captivates visitors after dark. One window in the castle continuously changes color, a subtle nod to the famous scene from the Disney classic “Sleeping Beauty”, where the fairies argue over the color of Aurora's dress.

Renovation Completion: Lighting as the Finishing Touch

The new lighting concept is the crowning detail of a comprehensive renovation of Sleeping Beauty Castle, completed in 2021. This initiative marks the conclusion of a multi-year project that honors the castle's rich history by blending nostalgic elements with modern technology.

New Lights for Fantasyland: Additional Attractions Shine

In addition to the castle, other areas of Fantasyland at Disneyland Paris have also been upgraded. Attractions like “Dumbo the Flying Elephant,” “Les Voyages de Pinocchio,” “Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains,” and “La Tanière du Dragon” now shine with new lighting. These enhancements contribute to transforming Fantasyland into a dazzling sea of lights, perfectly underscoring the park's magical atmosphere.
