In a riveting moment during Destination D23, the official Disney Fan Club gathering in Florida, Disneyland Paris unveiled ambitious plans for its two latest major projects.
Royal Revamp of the Disneyland Hotel
In a landmark reveal, a first glance into the currently revamped Disneyland Hotel was offered. This gem, prominently positioned at the entrance of the Disneyland Park, is undergoing a comprehensive royal makeover and is slated to reopen in the first quarter of 2024. Thomas Muller, the esteemed set designer from Walt Disney Imagineering, showcased stunning interiors, including a majestic lobby and a grand rotunda. The Royal Banquet, a culinary experience, is sure to be a highlight. Guests will dine in a gallery adorned with paintings of Disney royal families – a nod to Disney classics like "The Emperor's New Groove" and "The Little Mermaid". The Disneyland Hotel is set to make a statement: It will be the first of its kind to celebrate the full range of Disney royalty.
Walt Disney Studios Park: A Glimpse into the Future
In tandem with the hotel's renovation, another project in the Walt Disney Studios Park is taking shape: Future Land. Inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios, this area unfolds scenically alongside a vast lagoon. The Kingdom of Arendelle is already emerging from the construction dust. Initial outlines of the castle and the iconic snow-covered mountain are visible. A particularly innovative element will be the Audio-Animatronics® characters, set to captivate visitors in the area's main attraction. And if that wasn't enough, a recent video also depicts the progress of an elegant Art Nouveau-style restaurant on the lagoon's edge.
More Than Just an Expansion
The innovations aren't merely structural. New characters and experiences are enhancing the offering. Ahsoka from "Star Wars: Ahsoka", a Disney+ Original series, will be showcased from the upcoming spring in Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. Likewise, Asha, the protagonist from the soon-to-be-released Disney movie "Wish", will make her debut in Disneyland Paris. Additionally, the Disney Village will undergo a complete makeover in the coming years. With new shows launching in 2024 and other introductions, Disneyland Paris stays true to its legacy, ensuring visitors: The magic is only just beginning.
Amid this unprecedented transformation, Disneyland Paris solidifies its position as one of the premier global entertainment destinations, elevating the experience for its guests to new heights.
