Since October 2021, mixologist Marie-Laure has been creating unique drinks at the Skyline Bar in Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. Her career at Disneyland Paris and passion for inventive cocktails distinguish her as a standout figure. From Brittany to international competitions, her journey captivates.

Realm Protector: A Mocktail Masterpiece

At the Skyline Bar, drinks tell stories. Marie-Laure’s latest creation, the „Realm Protector,“ draws inspiration from Black Panther and Wakanda. She uses Bissap, an African hibiscus infusion, valued for its health benefits and low sweetness. Cranberry nectar complements the base, ginger adds a zesty kick, and hibiscus syrup balances the flavor. A clear ice cube featuring the Avengers „A“ and a purple pansy flower—an allusion to the power-granting blooms in the film—lend elegance. Preparation starts with 3 grams of dried hibiscus flowers steeped in one liter of boiling water. In a shaker, she blends 2 cl hibiscus syrup, 1 cl ginger concentrate, 4 cl cranberry nectar, and 13 cl Bissap infusion. After a good shake, the mocktail is served in an Old-Fashioned glass. Exclusive to Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, this alcohol-free creation caters to adults mindful of their intake, favoring less sugar.

Success in Cocktail Competitions

Marie-Laure first entered cocktail competitions out of curiosity. She aimed to meet fellow bartenders, explore different techniques, and spark her creativity. Over time, her drive to compete and earn recognition grew. In a once male-dominated field, she praises the gender parity now evident at Disneyland Paris. Her skill earned her awards in prestigious contests, showcasing her mastery as a mixologist. These achievements fuel her desire to refine her craft and connect with peers.

A Career of Twists and Turns

Born in Brittany, Marie-Laure grew up in Normandy before settling in Nantes. Her career began in tourism until she transitioned to hospitality in 2000, where training introduced her to bartending. Early stints in French hotel bars led her to Disneyland Paris. She worked at Café Fantasia in the Disneyland Hotel, now known as Fleur de Lys Bar, and at Rio Grande Bar in Disney Hotel Santa Fe. After gaining experience in renowned French luxury hotels, she returned to Disneyland Paris in August 2013. Starting as a team leader at the Sports Bar in Disney Village, she later led Captain’s Quarters at Disney’s Newport Bay Club. Her expertise then secured an internal promotion back to Fleur de Lys Bar. Since October 2021, she shines at the Skyline Bar.
