Doritos® Loaded Debuts at Overland Trail Cafe in 2025

Starting March 20, 2025, guests at Disneyland® Paris will enjoy a fresh culinary experience: the Overland Trail Cafe in Frontierland® introduces a new menu featuring Doritos®. Located opposite Big Thunder Mountain, this takeaway spot will offer crunchy snacks with bold toppings, born from a collaboration between Disneyland Paris and Doritos®.

Crunchy Treats Await in Frontierland®

From spring 2025, the Overland Trail Cafe will showcase Doritos® Loaded recipes in the heart of Frontierland®. Three flavorful options, crafted by the park’s chefs alongside Doritos®, promise a tasty break any time of day. This unique offering stems from teamwork between Corporate Alliances & Partnerships, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Food & Beverage teams with Doritos®. Visitors exploring the Wild West of Thunder Mesa can grab a snack near the Big Thunder Mountain entrance, making it an ideal stop during their park adventure.

A New Character Enriches the Story

The menu launch comes with a vibrant backstory for the Overland Trail Cafe, named after a historic route linking the eastern and western United States. Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Doritos® created the cafe’s owner: a spirited stagecoach driver with a curious mind, inspired by real figures like Mary Fields, Annie Oakley, and Calamity Jane, as well as 19th-century dime novels celebrating bold heroines. During her travels along the Overland Trail, she met a gold prospector who shared his crunchy, triangular corn chips. When these mixed with her cargo by chance, she discovered a delicious blend and began selling her Doritos® Loaded creations to Thunder Mesa’s residents.

Craftsmanship Brings the Vision to Life

Bringing this concept to reality required skilled craftsmanship. Carpenters, painters, prop makers, and printers from Disneyland Paris’s central workshops designed new decorative elements for the cafe’s interior and exterior, breathing life into the vision of the Imagineering and Doritos® teams. A wooden sign out front displays a map of her journeys, a dime novel cover chronicling her adventures, and nods to the Thunder Mesa Express transport company. Inside, photos capture the stagecoach driver with locals like Ol’ Klondike, the prospector who first introduced her to Doritos®, enhancing the Wild West atmosphere.

Creative Collaboration with Doritos®

David Goebel, Lead Concept Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, notes that the character was carefully woven into Frontierland®’s mythology. Her adventurous spirit as a larger-than-life trailblazer fits seamlessly among Thunder Mesa’s colorful cast, and working with the park’s talented artisans was a delight. Shiri Kornowski, Senior Design Director at PepsiCo Design & Innovation, highlights how the partnership birthed a bold heroine, establishing the cafe as a trading post for Doritos® Loaded while unfolding a culinary adventure. Karine Rougale, Director of Corporate Alliances & Partnerships, views this as a milestone in their alliance with Doritos®, the official salty snack partner, enriching the Food & Beverage lineup for guest enjoyment.
