On April 11, 2025, the Boardwalk Candy Palace in Main Street, U.S.A.® at Disneyland® Park will reopen its doors after an extensive renovation. This popular spot for sweet lovers will offer a new gourmet experience, presented by M&M’S®. Visitors can look forward to a refreshed design and an enhanced shopping experience.
Fresh Design with a Maritime Touch
The store has been completely revamped. Its exterior now features elegant nods to M&M’S, including a sophisticated window display with a three-layer illustration depicting a seaside stroll, creating a sense of depth. Inside, the design reflects the famous Atlantic City promenade. The new floor draws inspiration from the sea, blending shell motifs into a sandy terrazzo surface with mosaics in colors reminiscent of ocean foam. Whimsical hot air balloons, fashionable at the turn of the last century, float across the ceiling in front of vibrant frescoes representing the sky, crafted from around 35,000 M&M’S lentils.
Enhanced Shopping Experience for Guests
Custom-designed cabinets house 30 large tubes filled with M&M’S, allowing guests to purchase the sweets in any quantity they desire. The checkout counters stand before a 9.15-meter-wide mural showcasing Atlantic City on a splendid summer day, framed by illuminated columns brimming with colorful candies. The store’s layout has been reimagined and its furniture updated to improve visitor comfort. These changes deliver a modern shopping experience while preserving the original atmosphere of the venue.
Preserving a Historic Charm
Great care was taken during the renovation to maintain the original charm of the Boardwalk Candy Palace, first opened in 1992. The historic paintings, moldings, and columns were meticulously restored and enhanced. This extensive project came to life through collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and the Design & Delivery and Merchandise teams over recent months. The store remains a cherished fixture of Main Street, U.S.A.®.
A Sweet Disney Tradition
The tradition of a candy store in Main Street, U.S.A. dates back to the opening of the first Candy Palace in 1955 at Disneyland. With its reopening on April 11, 2025, the Boardwalk Candy Palace continues this legacy in Disneyland Paris in a fresh way. The partnership with M&M’S underscores the blend of classic Disney charm and modern indulgence.
