Since September 9, 2024, the popular night show World of Color – One at Disney California Adventure Park has been suspended. Disney Park announced that the show has been temporarily halted due to unspecified renovation work. Visitors are currently unable to book spots in the virtual queue, the World of Color dining package, or the World of Color dessert party.
The temporary cancellation of World of Color – One, the latest iteration of the beloved show, marks a significant change for fans who have enjoyed the spectacular performance for over a decade. First introduced 14 years ago on Pixar Pier (formerly Paradise Pier) in Disney California Adventure Park, this version of the show uniquely brings together characters from Pixar, Disney Animation Studios, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios.
History and Evolution of the Show
World of Color debuted in 2010 and has since become a central part of the park’s nighttime entertainment. The “One” version, which launched in 2023, was the first to include characters from across the Disney universe. Before its recent closure, the show featured updates, such as a pre-show for Inside Out 2 (2024) and a scene inspired by Elemental (2023).
It remains unclear which version of the show will return after the renovations. The show has undergone several updates in the past and is often adapted for seasonal overlays, especially during Halloween and Christmas.
Ongoing Night Shows at Disneyland Resort
While World of Color – One is on hold, other nighttime entertainment continues at Disneyland Resort. Visitors can still enjoy shows such as Fantasmic! and the fireworks display of Halloween Screams at Sleeping Beauty Castle.
