Since this week, the popular Toy Story attraction “Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop” at Walt Disney Studios Park has been inaccessible to visitors. The necessary maintenance work is expected to last for seven weeks, causing dissatisfaction among regular park visitors.

Detailed Closure

The Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop attraction, a highlight of Toy Story Playland, is temporarily closed due to extensive maintenance. The facility, manufactured by renowned maker Intamin, is expected to reopen at the end of June. This closure coincides with other renovation measures in the park, which also restrict visitor access.

Other Affected Attractions

In addition to the Toy Story attraction, "Les Tapis Volants," an Aladdin-themed carousel, is currently not in operation. Following comprehensive renovations, it is slated to reopen to the public in the fall. A large Buzz Lightyear statue, is currently surrounded by scaffolding and inaccessible. The Animation Celebration, known for "Frozen: A Musical Invitation," will remain closed until the end of June, further limiting the entertainment options available in the park.

Impact on Park Visitors

The closures have significant effects on visitor flows at Walt Disney Studios Park. The park has been struggling with capacity issues for some time, which are exacerbated by the temporary closures. Visitor numbers are particularly high in the mornings, prompting park management to advise entering the park after 3:00 PM. Guests are informed through signs, announcements, and the Disneyland app.

Situation in Disneyland Park

Several attractions are also currently closed for maintenance in the neighboring Disneyland Park. These include the Hyperspace Mountain roller coaster and the Le Pays des Contes de Fées boat ride. While Hyperspace Mountain is set to briefly reopen next Saturday, further short-term closures have already been announced.
