Disneyland Paris celebrates its 33rd anniversary, revealing plans for a major overhaul of its second park, set to become Disney Adventure World in 2026. On May 15, 2025, the new entrance, World Premiere, will open. New attractions inspired by "Frozen", "Up", and "The Lion King" are in development, alongside upgrades to Disney Hotels and Disney Village.
Disneyland Paris Marks 33 Years with Disney Adventure World Plans
Disneyland Paris commemorates 33 years by unveiling the transformation of its second park into Disney Adventure World. Backed by a 2-billion-euro investment announced in 2018, the park will nearly double in size, with over 90 % of its offerings revamped. Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris, emphasizes that this expansion, driven by a fresh creative vision, will deliver an unforgettable experience. A "Frozen"-themed land will debut in 2026, followed by a "The Lion King" world, while a family attraction inspired by "Up" begins construction in late 2025.
World Premiere Opens May 15, 2025
On May 15, 2025, World Premiere will open as the new gateway to Disney Adventure World. Guests will step into a glamorous Hollywood setting, complete with palm trees, stars on the ground, and a skyline capturing Tinseltown’s allure. The former Disney Studio 1 transforms into an authentic Hollywood Boulevard, featuring diverse architecture and subtle nods to Los Angeles and Disney. The Disney Theater, adorned with a three-ton sign, invites visitors into immersive worlds. At "The Hollywood Gardens Restaurant", diners enjoy quick meals under the stars, while the Searchlight Kiosk offers snacks and drinks to go. "Mickey’s of Hollywood Boutique", inspired by 1920s department stores, stocks Disney merchandise. The World Premiere Plaza, drawing from Broadway, blends themed areas with vibrant murals, new landscaping, and Art Deco design, set for completion by 2026.
Adventure Way Welcomes New Attractions
Adventure Way, a lush promenade celebrating Disney and Pixar stories in European Art Nouveau style, will see construction start in late 2025 for a "Up"-inspired attraction. This spinning carousel, offering park views, marks the first global ride based on the Pixar film. Across from it, a "Tangled"-inspired attraction takes shape, featuring vehicles reminiscent of the film’s lantern boats. Mandy Moore, Rapunzel’s original voice, recorded announcements to enhance authenticity. The "Regal View Restaurant & Lounge" provides meet-and-greets with Disney Princesses and views of a nightly spectacle at Adventure Bay, blending water screens, fountains, effects, and drone choreography.
Frozen Land Debuts in 2026
In 2026, a "Frozen"-themed land will open, anchored by a 36-meter North Mountain built from 400 tons of steel and hand-painted concrete. The "Frozen Ever After" attraction brings 34 advanced Audio-Animatronics to life. Over 1,000 trees and 100,000 shrubs shape Adventure Way’s landscape, including a "Toy Story" garden recently adorned with Woody and Jessie statues. Arendelle’s facades, fjord, and details like cobblestones and boats reflect the meticulous craft of Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, with over 800 professionals shaping these new worlds.
The Lion King World in Development
Starting in fall 2025, construction will begin on a "The Lion King" world, announced at the "D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event" in 2024. A water-based attraction with three drops, including a 16-meter plunge, will guide guests through the Pride Lands. The 37-meter Pride Rock stands at its heart. Audio-Animatronics, effects, and the iconic soundtrack promise a spectacular experience. Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering, notes that the ride, with its beloved characters and immersive settings, will pay tribute to the 1994 film.
Disney Hotels Blend Nature and Modernity
From 2026, the "Disney Sequoia Lodge" with its 1,010 rooms will undergo a renovation inspired by Walt Disney’s love of nature. The design celebrates forest-dwelling Disney characters like "Bambi", incorporating modern wood decor and sustainable materials while preserving its cozy ambiance. The hotel will remain open during the works. The "Disney Davy Crockett Ranch" will gradually replace its bungalows with new ones themed around Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and the Junior Woodchucks, offering a modern retreat in a natural setting. Bookings for the first new bungalows open on June 12, 2025.
Disney Village Expands Shopping and Dining
Disney Village is enhancing its offerings. "Disney Glamour" and "Disney Style" shops, already open, feature fashion and accessories. On April 19, 2025, a new "LEGO® Store" and "Deco by Disney", offering home goods and collectibles, will debut. In fall 2025, the "Disney Store" will close to reopen as "Disney Wonders", uniting all major Disney franchises. "Brasserie Rosalie" will unveil its "Petite Rosalie" terrace with sunny-day snacks. Later in 2025, the "Sports Bar & Lounge" will relaunch with a fresh design and menu, followed in 2026 by a state-of-the-art "McDonald’s" and "Casa Giulia", an Italian restaurant with distinctive architecture.
Entertainment Shines with Magic and Music
Since January 2025, "Disney Tales of Magic" has captivated audiences as a nightly spectacle. From April 19 to September 7, 2025, the "Disney Music Festival" will transform Disneyland Park with 12 musical events featuring live performances and Disney hits. Starting April 19, "Animation Celebration" will display a vibrant model of Disney Adventure World, showcasing its transformation, including "Frozen" and "The Lion King" areas, accessible without viewing the "Frozen: A Musical Invitation" show.
