Disneyland Paris unveils an impressive redesign of the Stunt Show Arena for the new show “Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland.” This show offers guests a unique and immersive experience, bringing the magic of Wonderland to life.
A New Era for the Stunt Show Arena
The Stunt Show Arena at Disneyland Paris shines anew with the show “Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland.” This breathtaking production, produced by Claire Salmon and designed by set designer Olivier Dusautoir, elevates the art of entertainment to a new level. The stage measures 68 meters in length and reaches a height of 16 meters, providing guests with an unparalleled experience.
Innovations in Stage Design
One of the standout features of this new show is the central stage, which features an impressive arch structure reminiscent of the iconic rabbit hole. This structure is not only visually captivating but also functional, integrating various special equipment such as trampolines and BMX bikes. Particularly noteworthy is the decor structure, which consists of 300 tons of steel, ensuring stability and safety.
An Immersive Experience for the Audience
With a capacity for up to 2,800 guests per show, the performance offers an immersive experience that begins with a combination of visual and musical spectacle as soon as guests enter the theater. Oil tanks are used to create unique soundscapes that transport the audience into the wonderland of Alice and the Queen of Hearts. Trampolines at the base of the stands and built-in screens in the decor further contribute to the dynamic atmosphere.
Creative Musical Instruments and Interactive Elements
Another highlight of the show is the creative use of musical instruments designed and integrated into everyday objects. Inspired by the original story, this adds a special touch to the performance. Additionally, the audience is actively involved in the show, particularly in the final scene, where viewers can determine the ending of the performance.
Impacts and Future Perspectives
The introduction of “Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland” not only revitalizes a previously unused show area at Disneyland Paris but also sets new standards for future immersive shows in the park. This innovation strengthens relationships with existing and new suppliers, including Planète Vapeur from Nice and various Spanish companies involved in the decoration.
Voices of the Creators
Claire Salmon, the producer of the show, emphasizes the importance of the project: “We wanted to breathe new life into this whole area, as it hadn't hosted a show for quite some time.” Set designer Olivier Dusautoir adds, “Every detail contributes to telling our story.” The innovative idea of redesigning musical instruments was also highlighted by Claire Salmon: “We found this idea of redesigning musical instruments in the film itself.” Trust plays a central role in executing such large projects, as Claire emphasizes: “Trust is key, especially when working with unusual volumes like these.” Olivier Dusautoir concludes: “We also wondered how we could gather the audience's opinion.”
