The countdown is on: Chessington World of Adventures is set to reopen its gates on March 22, 2024, for a promising season. Ahead of the grand opening, extensive efforts are underway to enhance the attractions and optimize the visitor experience. From technological upgrades in the parking areas to refurbishing classic rides, let’s delve into the extensive maintenance work currently happening in the park.
Innovative Technology for Visitor Comfort
Chessington World of Adventures is introducing ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) systems in its parking areas to streamline and accelerate the parking process for guests.
A Fresh Look at Adventure Point
One of the most noticeable changes is the redesign of the castle area at Adventure Point. While the new color scheme has sparked discussions, it emphasizes the park’s commitment to continuously improving its facilities. The carousel is also receiving comprehensive maintenance, including a redesign of its water effect.
Updates in Mexicana and Pirate Shores
In Mexicana, large trucks and new fences hint at hidden maintenance work. In Pirate Shores, the renovation focuses on Barrel Bail-Out and Sea Storm, with the latter getting a new operator’s cabin and visible parts of the old ride being disposed of.
Park-Wide Renewals
The dismantling and refurbishment of Tiny Truckers and the ground renewal at Elmers Flying Jumbos are part of extensive refreshing works throughout the park. In the Zufari region, a hut and an old animal enclosure have been renovated, highlighting the commitment to upgrading the park.
Technical enhancements at Major Attractions
Significant technical improvements are being made at Croc Drop and Dragons Fury. The latter is receiving new sensors for a smoother ride. Interestingly, no major work is planned for Tiger Rock this year, although all boats have been removed for maintenance purposes.
Chessington World of Adventures is gearing up with a series of exciting updates for the upcoming 2024 season. These improvements promise an even better experience for visitors and underscore the park's ongoing development. With the opening day on March 22 fast approaching, anticipation for a season full of excitement is building.
