Visitors to Bobbejaanland currently have to forego two popular attractions. Both the Aztek Express carousel and The Dreamcatcher hanging roller coaster are temporarily inaccessible due to extensive construction work.
Background of the Closures
The Aztek Express, a carousel that has been a part of the park since 1996, had to be completely dismantled for a major maintenance operation, leaving only the drive mechanism in place. During the work, additional technical issues were uncovered, necessitating a complete replacement of the substructures and leading to further delays. The production of replacement parts is expected to be completed next week, with the aim of resuming operations by June 1st at the latest.
The Dreamcatcher roller coaster, celebrating its 37th anniversary, suffered a technical malfunction during the opening weekend. The required parts were immediately ordered and are expected to arrive next week, aiming for a reopening around April 20th.
Impact on the Park's Offerings
The current construction work significantly limits the range of attractions available at Bobbejaanland. In addition to the attractions mentioned above, the 3D simulator, The Forbidden Caves, will remain closed for the entire season. The fate of the Koggemolen, which was removed from the park after 39 years, remains uncertain.
Additional Information
However, there is positive news: Until the end of June, the exhibition World of Dinos will add to the park's attractions. This covered Dino Experience, equipped with roaring animatronic dinosaurs, is accessible to all park visitors and promises an exciting adventure for young and old alike.
