An icon returns: After extensive renovation works, Alton Towers reopens its gates for Nemesis Reborn on March 16th. Celebrated as Europe's most spectacular inverted coaster, the ride promises to captivate visitors anew with its revamped appearance and thrilling backstory.
A Legend Awakens to New Life
Nemesis, one of Europe’s most impressive roller coasters, is back after a year-long hiatus. Alton Towers spared no effort in thoroughly renovating the attraction that's over three decades old. Nearly the entire structure has been renewed to make the experience even more breathtaking for visitors.
An Alien Predator Returns
The reopening of Nemesis under the new name Nemesis Reborn is accompanied by an engaging story. It narrates the tale of Nemesis, an alien predator, awakening stronger and wilder than ever before. Despite the efforts of the Phalanx, a military organization, to tame the beast, it remains an unpredictable threat.
A New Design Meets Time-Tested Thrills
Nemesis Reborn stands out with an entirely new design. While the original track was in a light-brown tone, the coaster now showcases a sinister black with red veins, surrounded by gigantic tentacles. This visual transformation enhances the mystical aura of the roller coaster.
Technical Data and Historical Significance
Located in the Forbidden Valley area of the park, the coaster, with a height of 13 meters and a track length of 716 meters, offers an intense experience. Passengers will experience four inversions and reach speeds of up to 81 kilometers per hour during the ride. As Europe’s first inverted coaster by Bolliger & Mabillard, Nemesis set new standards upon its opening in 1994.
The Rebirth of a Roller Coaster Legend
With the reopening of Nemesis Reborn, Alton Towers once again demonstrates its ability to combine tradition and innovation. Visitors can look forward to a ride filled with adrenaline and history that once again pushes the boundaries of imagination. Nemesis Reborn is not just about the renewal of a roller coaster, but also about the immortal fascination that such legendary attractions evoke.
